Attorney Position

The Center for Nonprofit Law is the only law firm in Oregon that serves solely nonprofit organizations as its clientele. The work is exciting, varied, and rewarding.  Our practice is committed to a flexible work environment that allows for work/life balance. We have an excellent staff and love working together as a team.

The practice has been open for more than 30 years, and we have worked with thousands of nonprofits all over the state. Despite our small size, our client base is large and robust, and we provide counsel on all non-litigation matters facing nonprofits, including starting a nonprofit, gaining tax-exempt status, foreign donations, complex organizational structures, compliance with state and IRS regulations, employment law, trademarks, and property law. We also draft and negotiate contracts and other legal documents, provide Board trainings, and provide estate planning services for donors wishing to leave assets to nonprofit organizations.

We are seeking to hire an attorney for our Center for Nonprofit Law, who is interested in the potential to buy into the firm as a partner. Over the next five years, we will be transitioning ownership of our firm, and are looking for an attorney to join us very soon and over time purchase a share of the firm, likely in partnership with one of our current attorneys. Applicants should be self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with some management and business ability. Excellent interpersonal, writing, and research skills are necessary.  Ideally, candidates will have three to five years of practice experience in a related area of law, including employment law, transactional work, nonprofit law, business law, or tax law. Hours and pay are flexible and open to negotiation.

This is a wonderful opportunity to own your own practice, and set your work routine to fit your life!
